Objectives of the Course

To attempt to understand the universal nature of legal and judicial thought and the propensity of man to approach to ideal law.

Course Content

While the content of the course is within the frame of the various discussons in the philosophy of law, it largely consists of the knowledge and requirements of the student, therefore, varies from year to year. The aim is to attempt to understand the universal nature of legal and judicial thought and the propensity of man to approach to ideal law. Some prominent examples of basic discussions are : what is the importance of the sociology of law in terms of understanding law ?, what are the conceptual underpinnings for the various norms of law?, the normative relationship of rights and responsibilities.

Revision of the Sumerian, Babylon, Assyrian codes, and reading the history of the periods concerned

Orientation towards ideal law: in the Roman law

Evaluations on breaking points during the orientation process towards ideal law I (inquisiton courts, law of McCarthy era, etc.)
