Objectives of the Course

To follow the development of the Turkish language from beginning to present.

Course Content

The historical development of the Turkish language, and values. Old Bulgarian Turkish which important features and artifacts. The root of the period of Turkish language features and text studies. Orkhon inscriptions; Uighur Turkish language features. Buddhist, and Christian Uighur texts Maniheist.

Learning Outcomes
1.They notice changes and developments in the language in the transition from Classical Turkish to contemporary Turkish
2.Learns making word analyses both diachronic and synronic.
3.Recognizes the grammatical and other features of old period texts.
4.Gains experience about ethimologigal analyses.
5.Students will be able to make applications and readings with the alphabets of the texts of Old Turkish.
