Objectives of the Course

Lately, it has become clear that athletes need to take a long-term, systematic approach to a well-designed functional training program to reduce the risk of sporting injuries and improve their performance. The concepts defined in the functional process will contribute to the training programs with a new perspective as they can be applied to any part of the body.

Course Content

Open-Closed Kinetic chain movements, mobility, differences between static and dynamic flexibility, joint-insertion approach, resistance exercise models, core and proprioceptive exercises, functional training protocols, functional training program examples suitable for sports branch

Name of Lecturer(s)
Prof. Burçin ÖLÇÜCÜ
Learning Outcomes
1.Functional training models will contribute positively to sportive performance.
2.As a result of the as work, the movement is done properly and the risk of sport injuries is reduced and the performance improvement is provided to the sports branch
3.Differences between a single muscle group and muscle groups that result in functional strength assessments may be detected.
4. Can plan appropriate trainings for sports branches.
5. Prepare functional training protocols.
