Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide advanced knowledge and skills regarding the protection of children in sports environments; to raise awareness of coaches, trainers and sports managers regarding the prevention of abuse, neglect and psychosocial risks. It is aimed to examine the child protection system in the context of sports in the light of national and international legislation, application models and ethical principles.

Course Content

The concept of child protection, types and causes of child abuse, risky behaviors in sports environments, national and international legal regulations, ethical rules in coach-athlete relationships, child protection systems, case studies, peer bullying, prevention strategies and the construction of child-friendly sports environments.
