Objectives of the Course

This course examines the environmental impacts of non-traditional energy sources within the context of sustainability principles. It addresses—using a technical approach—the positive and negative effects of renewable energy technologies on ecosystems, as well as carbon footprint management and waste recycling strategies. The course aims to equip students with competence in technical practices that ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promote the efficient use of natural resources, and contribute to green transition goals in energy production processes.

Course Content

Establishing the relationship between alternative energy resources and environment; ensuring students to gain environmental consciousness and using energy economically.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Learning Outcomes
1.Explains the environmental impacts of alternative energy sources (solar, wind, geothermal, biomass) and their roles in ecological balance.
2.Evaluates environmental footprints by conducting life cycle analysis (LCA) of systems used in energy production.
3.Applies legal environmental legislation and standards during the installation and operation of renewable energy power plants.
4.Manages the classification, storage, and disposal processes of industrial waste generated in energy facilities.
5.Calculates and reports the potential of alternative energy sources in reducing carbon emissions.
6.Develops technical solutions to prevent pollution by identifying environmental risk factors in energy facilities.
