Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide students with media literacy knowledge, help them understand the role of media within the cultural environment, and develop their critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and ability to use information technologies.

Course Content

The course covers media education and the methods and techniques used in media education. Topics include an introduction to communication, mass communication theories, media, and media ethics, as well as ways to become media literate. The course examines television, the analysis of TV programs, the relationship between family, children, and television, animated films, newspapers and magazines, and news published in these media. In addition, the course covers the internet and the virtual world, the internet's characteristics, the analysis of online news, and manipulation and disinformation.
