To provide students with fundamental knowledge of cattle, sheep-goat and poultry production, breeding, feeding, housing, health and biosecurity.
Importance of livestock, breeds, reproduction, feeding, management, housing, production records, biosecurity and sustainable animal production.
| 1. | Compares cattle, sheep, goat, and poultry species along with their significant breeds in terms of morphological, physiological, and production characteristics, and evaluates appropriate production systems. |
| 2. | Plans and implements the principles of reproductive biology, genetics and breeding, nutrition, care, housing, and herd management in animal production in alignment with production targets. |
| 3. | Analyzes performance records in livestock enterprises; evaluates fundamental practices regarding animal health, biosecurity, animal welfare, and disease prevention. |
| 4. | Explains the structure and economic importance of the livestock sector in Türkiye and worldwide, the principles of sustainable animal production, and the essential characteristics of cattle, sheep-goat, and poultry production. |
| 5. | Analyzes different production systems and develops solutions by considering the principles of efficiency, quality, economic production, environmental sustainability, and ethical breeding in animal production. |
