Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach students the fundamental concepts of ergonomics, human-machine-environment interaction, ergonomic design principles for work environments, the relationship with occupational health and safety, and applications of physical, cognitive, and environmental ergonomics; and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to enhance work efficiency, protect worker health, and create safe working environments.

Course Content

Definition and evolution of ergonomics, human anatomy and anthropometry, biomechanics, working postures, musculoskeletal disorders, workstation design, human-machine interaction, environmental ergonomics (lighting, noise, vibration, thermal comfort), cognitive ergonomics, workload analysis, manual material handling, ergonomic risk assessment methods, the relationship between occupational health and safety and ergonomics, ergonomic improvement practices.

1.Gains the basic concepts and understanding skills of agricultural machinery science.
2.Evaluates working environments from an ergonomic perspective using the principles of human anatomy, anthropometry, and biomechanics.
3.Identifies physical, environmental, and cognitive ergonomic risks in working environments and applies appropriate analysis methods.
4.Develops improvement proposals for workstations, equipment, and work processes using ergonomic design principles.
5.Presents solution proposals by evaluating ergonomics applications in terms of work productivity, employee health, safety, and sustainability.
