Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to teach the fundamental principles of air conditioning systems in agricultural production environments, to introduce technologies for controlling environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, air movement, and radiation in greenhouses and livestock structures, and to enable students to gain the ability to analyze and design air conditioning systems in accordance with energy efficiency and sustainable production principles.

Course Content

Introduction to agricultural air conditioning, environmental climate factors, heat and moisture balance, psychrometry, climate control in greenhouse and livestock production structures, natural and mechanical ventilation systems, heating systems, cooling systems, evaporative cooling, fogging systems, shading applications, humidity control, air conditioning automation, sensor technologies, energy efficiency, renewable energy-supported air conditioning systems, computer-controlled greenhouse climate management, and application examples.
