Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to analyze agricultural production systems from a holistic perspective, transform agricultural problems and needs into entrepreneurial opportunities, develop innovative and sustainable business ideas by utilizing digital agriculture technologies, design business models, evaluate financial and legal processes, and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to create economic, environmental, and social value in the agricultural sector through entrepreneurship.

Course Content

This course covers the concepts of agricultural entrepreneurship, agricultural production systems and value chains, analysis of agricultural problems, identification of entrepreneurial opportunities, creativity and innovation approaches, the use of digital agriculture technologies in entrepreneurship, business idea development, value proposition design, business model development, market analysis, financial planning, legal processes, risk management, sustainability, ethics, social entrepreneurship, and rural development. Throughout the course, students evaluate the process of developing innovative and sustainable entrepreneurial solutions to agricultural challenges through project-based applications.

Introduction to Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Value Creation in Agriculture; Concepts of entrepreneurship and agricultural entrepreneurship, changing structure of the agricultural sector, creating economic, environmental and social value in agriculture, the impact of digital transformation on agricultural entrepreneurship.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Analysis of Agricultural Production Systems and Value Chains; Components of agricultural production systems, agricultural value chain, stakeholder analysis, value creation processes from production to market.
Week 3 - Theoretical
Identifying Agricultural Problems and Discovering Entrepreneurial Opportunities; Problem analysis, needs assessment, opportunity analysis, developing entrepreneurial ideas from agricultural challenges.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Creativity, Innovation and Digital Agricultural Solutions; Creative thinking, concept of innovation, digital agriculture technologies, innovative solution development approaches.

Developing Business Ideas and Creating Value Propositions; Business idea generation methods, value proposition development, user- and producer-oriented solutions, evaluation of business ideas.
