Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to enable students to understand human behaviors, decisions, and psychological processes in work life through a scientific perspective. By examining all processes ranging from individual-job fit to organizational culture, and from motivation to occupational health, the course aims to familiarize students with the human factor in the workplace, optimize the individual-job and individual-productivity relationships, develop organizational policies that enhance job satisfaction and motivation, and provide knowledge and skills to cope with psychosocial risk factors in working life.

Course Content

This course begins with the definition, historical development, and methods of occupational psychology, and then examines human behavior in the workplace from a multifaceted perspective. The content covers industrial processes such as job analysis, personnel selection and placement, training, and performance appraisal. Furthermore, it addresses organizational behavior topics such as job satisfaction, employee motivation, organizational commitment, leadership theories, and group dynamics, as well as psychosocial risk factors and solutions related to workplace stress, burnout, mobbing, work-life balance, and occupational health psychology.

1.It defines and explains the fundamental concepts, principles, and theoretical approaches to the behavioral dimension of working life.
2.It analyzes the effects of person-job fit, job satisfaction, and motivation processes on productivity and employee health.
3.It identifies psychosocial factors that lead to discord, conflict, or stress in the workplace and develops appropriate management strategies.
4.It evaluates the psychological processes behind HR practices such as job analysis, personnel selection, and performance appraisal
5.It develops policies to improve the quality of working life by examining the dynamics of the work environment (mobbing, leadership styles, organizational commitment) using scientific methods.
