The main objective of the Management and Thought Systems course is to both convey to students the historical development of management science and modern management paradigms, and to equip them with the philosophical, strategic, and systems thinking that guide these management processes. This course aims to equip students not only with the skills to be "managers," but also with the ability to analyze situations by seeing the big picture strategic leaders.
The Management and Thought Systems course is an intellectual bridge course that examines how organizations are managed (management) and the mental processes (thought systems) behind these management models. It is a visionary course that shows not only "how" things are managed in an organization, but also "what logic" is behind the decisions and strategies that govern those tasks.
| 1. | This book analyzes the fundamental theories, paradigms, and philosophical currents that have shaped management thought from the classical to the postmodern era, comparing them within their historical context. |
| 2. | It views organizations and managerial problems as open "systems" composed of dynamic parts that interact with each other; it models nonlinear problems (where cause-and-effect relationships are complex) using Systems Thinking tools. |
| 3. | It develops innovative, human-centered, and sustainable management solutions/strategies by using strategic analysis tools and Design Thinking methodology in uncertain and complex business environments. |
| 4. | They recognize cognitive biases and limited rationality factors in decision-making processes; and in times of crisis, risk, and uncertainty, they make effective decisions by balancing both data-driven and intuitive management reflexes. |
| 5. | They understand current business models such as Agile Management, Lean Thinking, and Digital Transformation; and demonstrate leadership vision by considering corporate social responsibility, business ethics, and sustainability principles in their managerial decisions and practices. |
