Objectives of the Course

The basic principles of remote sensing technologies and enable them to evaluate satellite images within the scope of mapping, cadastre, land use, and GIS applications.

Course Content

Basic concepts of remote sensing, properties of satellite images, types of resolution, image interpretation, basic image processing and classification approaches, and the use of remote sensing data in GIS, mapping, cadastre, and planning applications.

1.Explains the basic concepts, areas of use, and relationship of remote sensing with mapping, cadastre, and GIS.
2.Defines the electromagnetic spectrum, sensor systems, platforms, and basic characteristics of satellite images.
3.Distinguishes resolution types in satellite images and basic principles of image interpretation.
4.Explains land use/land cover, image classification, and digital image processing at a basic level.
5.Evaluates the use of remote sensing data in GIS, land registry, cadastre, and different professional application areas with examples.
