Objectives of the Course

This course aims to introduce the concept of smart cities and their components; to establish connections between land registry, cadastre and land management processes within smart city systems; and to evaluate the impact of technological developments on urban space and property management.

Course Content

Definition and historical development of smart cities, smart city components, urban data infrastructure and GIS, IoT and sensor technologies, smart transportation and infrastructure, smart land management and e-government applications, digital land registry and cadastre systems, 3D city models and BIM, relationship between urban transformation and smart cities, sustainable cities and climate change, smart city case studies from Turkey and the world.
