This course aims to provide knowledge of the conceptual framework, legal basis and implementation processes of urban transformation; to evaluate urban transformation applications from the perspective of land registry, cadastre and property management; and to introduce relevant legislation and institutional structures in transformation projects.
Urban transformation concept and historical development, urbanisation process and squatter housing problem in Turkey, legal framework of urban transformation (Law No. 6306 and related legislation), identification of risky structures and risky areas, land registry and cadastre procedures in transformation projects, condominium and construction easement, expropriation and real estate valuation, property rights and ownership issues, project examples and case studies.
