Objectives of the Course

It is aimed for students to learn the structure and functions of the media, which is one of the most important mass media of our age, and to analyze the social effects of media contents within the framework of a conscious perspective. However, the emergence of the New Media Concept and its wide usage areas in recent years have revealed a new problem. With this course, it is aimed that the students look at the information they have obtained through both traditional and new media (social media) within a certain consciousness.

General features of media tools (newspaper, magazine, radio, television, internet, etc.); effects of mass media on society; propaganda techniques; improving access to information skills; evaluating media messages from different perspectives; producing media messages; activity designs for media literacy teaching; Social Media, Effect of Social Media, Social Media Management, Concept of Literacy, Social Media Literacy
