Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to introduce the basic cellular and tissue structures that make up the human body at the microscopic level and to teach their functions. It is intended that students understand the structure and organization of normal tissues, gain fundamental health knowledge, and be able to accurately apply histological information in practice.

Course Content

The Basic Histology course aims to teach the microscopic structure of the cells, tissues, and organs that make up the human body. The course covers the detailed examination of cell structure, organelles, the cytoskeleton, and the nucleus to help students understand cellular-level structures and functions. Cell divisions (amitosis, mitosis, meiosis), the cell cycle, and differentiation processes are explained. The microscopic structures and functions of connective, epithelial, muscle, nervous, cartilage, and bone tissues are studied. Additionally, the histological features of tissues related to the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, and immune systems are taught to help students recognize basic tissue and organ structures and apply this knowledge in professional practice.
