The purpose of this course is to understand the importance of patient rights in the provision of health services, to teach the relevant legal and ethical framework, and to ensure that health professionals develop behaviors and attitudes in accordance with these rights.
This course covers the importance of patient rights within the scope of basic human rights in the provision of health services. Basic topics such as ethical principles, patient confidentiality, information and consent, the right to refuse health services, and complaint mechanisms are covered. In light of national legislation and international documents, the patient-provider relationship is evaluated in terms of legal and ethical aspects. The course aims to develop professional attitudes that are sensitive to patient rights by supporting case studies, group work, and current examples.
