The foundations of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program were laid with the establishment of Bozdoğan Vocational School in the 2006–2007 academic year under the name of the Animal Breeding and Health Program. In the 2009–2010 academic year, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Higher Education, the name of the program was changed to the Large and Small Ruminant Breeding Program. Within the scope of the program restructuring carried out in the 2011–2012 academic year, the Large and Small Ruminant Breeding Program was closed and the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program was established. In the 2012–2013 academic year, in addition to the daytime education program, an evening education program for the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program was also opened, thereby providing educational opportunities for a greater number of students. The program continued its activities within the Department of Veterinary based on a theoretical and practical education approach and offered education through both daytime and evening education programs until the 2024–2025 academic year. Within the scope of the decision to close evening education programs in higher education institutions in the 2024–2025 academic year, the evening education of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program was also closed, and educational activities have since been carried out only through the daytime education program. The Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program aims to educate veterinary assistant healthcare personnel and provides students with both theoretical and practical education in areas such as animal anatomy, physiology, animal diseases, laboratory techniques, clinical practices, animal nutrition, preventive veterinary medicine, and public health. As of the 2024–2025 academic year, the 3+1 Workplace Vocational Training Model has been implemented in the program. Within the scope of this model, students complete their final semester by receiving practical vocational training in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, veterinary diagnostic and analysis laboratories, public institutions, and relevant private sector enterprises. Thus, students gain the opportunity to develop their professional knowledge and skills in a practical environment before graduation and to prepare for professional life in a more qualified manner.

The mission of Aydın Adnan Menderes University Bozdoğan Vocational School is to train students who can think scientifically and multidimensionally in order to meet Turkey's need for qualified labor force. For this, it aims to be an educational institution that shows students the basic concepts as well as the ways of accessing information and fulfills the supporting conditions for quality education.

With the existing programs and programs planned to be opened, it is to train preferred professionals in accordance with international professional standards in order to train the qualified workforce needed in today's business world. Our Vocational School, which tries to provide students with academic culture as well as academic knowledge, aims to carry out its educational activities in a sensitive manner in line with the basic principles of the Republic. The basic attitude of Bozdoğan Vocational School is a competitive, participatory, democratic understanding with the aim of getting out before the institutions with a similar mission, with a management approach and an effort to keep student-employee satisfaction at the highest level.

PROGRAMME'S EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO) Graduates; PEO-1: In the field of veterinary health services, they possess the professional knowledge and skills to effectively support veterinarians in the processes of animal health protection, diagnosis, treatment, and care. PEO-2: They can carry out sample collection, analysis, quality control and record keeping procedures in veterinary laboratories in accordance with relevant legislation, biosafety and ethical rules. PEO-3: They can provide responsible healthcare services while adhering to animal welfare, public health, environmental awareness, and professional ethical principles. PEO-4: They can demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills by adapting to teamwork in veterinary clinics, livestock farms, laboratories, and related sectors. PEO-5: Individuals who follow scientific and technological developments, embrace lifelong learning, and continuously pursue their professional development can play an effective role in working life.

Bozdoğan Vocational School is situated on a land area of 7,703 m² and has a total enclosed area of 3,134 m². The vocational school building, designed as a three-storey structure, consists of two main sections: an administrative block and an educational block. The physical infrastructure supporting the effective delivery of educational and training activities has been structured to contribute to the achievement of the educational objectives and program outcomes of the programs. The administrative block includes nine workspaces designated for the provision of academic, administrative, and social services. It is equipped with a library, tea room, computer laboratory, technical laboratory, conference hall, graphic design workshop, study room, meeting room, social market, and prayer room, all of which are available for use. The educational block contains eight classrooms equipped to meet the physical requirements of both theoretical and practical courses. Some of the classrooms are designed in an amphitheater-style layout, providing learning environments suitable for different student capacities. The conference hall, located on the third floor of the administrative block, covers an area of 376 m² and has a seating capacity of 150 people, providing a suitable venue for the organization of scientific, cultural, and professional activities.

Bozdoğan Vocational School has the technical infrastructure necessary to support the achievement of the educational objectives and program outcomes of its programs. Wireless internet access is available throughout the vocational school, and all classrooms are equipped with fixed projection devices. This infrastructure supports the presentation of course content through visual and interactive methods, the effective use of digital educational materials, and access to information resources. Within the scope of the program, there is a computer laboratory with a capacity of 38 students where practical training activities are conducted. The laboratory enables students to develop their knowledge and skills related to professional software and digital applications. In addition, the Graphic Design Workshop provides opportunities for the implementation of applications related to visual communication, design, and digital content production, while the Technical Laboratory supports practice-oriented courses through its facilities, including a workspace with a capacity of 23 students, laboratory benches, practical equipment, a preparation room, and storage areas. To ensure the effective delivery of academic and administrative services, the vocational school has 9 academic, administrative, and social workspaces. These areas are equipped with 13 computers, one computer dedicated to the storage of security camera recordings, two multifunction printers, a photocopier and optical reader, one fax machine, a digital switchboard system, and an alarm infrastructure. The technical infrastructure of the vocational school is further supported by security and sustainability components. A security camera system and an alarm system are installed throughout the building to ensure the safety and security of the educational environment. In addition, air-conditioning systems are available in the tea room located on the first floor, in classrooms 3-4 and 3-5 located on the second floor, in the computer laboratory, and in the conference hall. The four air-conditioning units installed in the conference hall provide appropriate physical conditions for educational activities, meetings, and scientific events. Furthermore, the operating instructions displayed on the air-conditioning units contribute to raising awareness of energy efficiency and the sustainable use of resources.
