Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide fundamental and practical knowledge in bee care and health; it includes teaching bee biology, colony management, feeding practices, control of diseases and pests, preventive health measures, and efficient production techniques.

Course Content

This course covers the historical development of beekeeping and provides a detailed examination of the anatomical structure, races, and biological characteristics of the honeybee. During the course, honeybee products and their production processes are explained. Additionally, swarming behavior and migratory beekeeping practices are evaluated, and fundamental beekeeping equipment, wintering methods, and feeding practices are discussed. Springtime activities and robbing behavior of bees are also included in the course content. Furthermore, organic beekeeping practices, honeybee diseases and pests, their management strategies, and preventive measures are comprehensively addressed.
