Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to teach the classification and nomenclature of microorganisms that cause infectious diseases, and to provide comprehensive knowledge about their anatomical structures, genetic characteristics, modes of nutrition, reproductive processes, and metabolic activities.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, the classification and nomenclature of bacteria, as well as their anatomical structures, are addressed; their nutritional patterns, reproduction, and metabolic characteristics are examined. In addition, bacterial pathogenicity and genetic mechanisms are explained, and antimicrobial approaches and epidemiology are evaluated. Furthermore, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Enterobacteriaceae, acid-fast bacteria and actinomycetes, anaerobic bacteria, mycoplasmas and spirochetes, as well as obligate intracellular bacteria are examined in detail.
