Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the concept and history of volunteering, evaluate social responsibility and ethical principles, develop competencies in planning, implementing, and managing volunteer projects, and analyze the social, economic, and cultural impacts of volunteer work on individuals and society, thereby promoting active participation in community service and conscious volunteer behavior.

Course Content

In this course, the student explains the concept and definition of volunteering, learns its history, evaluates social responsibility and ethical principles, and identifies types and areas of volunteering. The student plans volunteer projects, determines implementation strategies, and applies communication, teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills in volunteer activities. Additionally, the student analyzes the social, economic, and cultural impacts of volunteer work, applies ethical and social responsibility principles, examines best practice examples, and implements their own volunteer project. By the end of the course, the student evaluates the overall effects of volunteering and interprets the acquired knowledge comprehensively.
