Objectives of the Course

It aims to teach the use of the laboratory for diagnosis and identification, as well as the tests to be performed in the laboratory.

Course Content

Laboratory materials and equipment; introduction to microscopes; growth of microorganisms and culture media; preparation of microscope slides; sterilization, pasteurization, and disinfection; laboratory rules and safety procedures; cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment; introduction to hematological instruments and materials; introduction to serological instruments and materials; simple staining techniques; blood counting methods; and separation of serum and plasma from blood.
