Objectives of the Course

The objective of the course is to teach students the importance and current state of small ruminant breeding in the world and in Turkey is to recognize goat and sheep breeds, is also to gain knowledge and skill competencies related to obtain organic, economical and high quality of milk, meat, wool, hair and mohair of sheep and goat concerning animal breeding, improvement, management and nutrition of small ruminants.

Course Content

The importance and current state of organic small ruminant breeding in the world and in Turkey. Reproduction in sheep and goats. Genetic improvement. Management, nutrition, breeding, health protection in organic sheep and goat husbandry, Production of high quality and organic sheep and goat products.

4.makes and performs the management, breeding practices, grazing, nutrition, housing and health protection of organic small ruminant husbandry
5.knows and performs healthy, high quality and economic production of products of organic small ruminant husbandry
