Placement (Internship) Coordinator
The aim of the Tourism and Hotel Management program is to meet the qualified personnel needs of the tourism sector, which is critical for the economy of our country, with students who have middle-level management qualifications. In the Tourism and Hotel Management Program, which serves as a two-year associate degree training for the tourism sector to meet the well-trained, expert, qualified manpower; It is at the forefront of raising young people who can do their job in English and computer systems, use the automation systems used in the sector effectively, use the professional knowledge and skills they have acquired at school, and adopt their profession as a lifestyle. Training Period and Content: The education period is 3 years (elective) for students enrolled in the preparatory class, and 2 years for students who will continue without enrolling in the preparatory class. Education is carried out both theoretically and practically. For graduation II. Compulsory internship, covering 30 working days at the end of the term, is done in the sector. Main lessons: General Tourism, Foreign Language (English, German), Front Office Services, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Management, Food and Beverage Service, Menu Planning, Food and Personnel Hygiene, Hotel Management Automation Systems (Elektra, Opera etc.), Travel Agency and Tour Operator Tourism Marketing, Tourism Economics, Tourism Legislation, Tourism Geography, Alternative Tourism, Contemporary Management Practices in Tourism, Congress and Fair Organization. Job oppurtunities Students who graduate from the program can work in the front office, housekeeping, kitchen, service, bar, purchasing, marketing and sales, human resources, etc. departments of the accommodation businesses; They can work in food and beverage businesses and travel agencies. Their fields of work are mostly in the private sector. In the public sector, there is the opportunity to work in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and its affiliated organizations. Vertical transmission : Tourism and Hotel Management program graduates; With the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS), they can continue their four-year undergraduate education by transferring to the hospitality management, tourism management, tourism management and hotel management departments of universities. They can directly enroll in the third year of Anadolu University's four-year Faculty of Business Administration (Business Administration Department) and Faculty of Economics (Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations departments).
Tourism and Hotel Management Program was opened in the 2005-2006 Education Period and started to accept students.
The purpose of the Tourism and Hotel Management program; To meet the qualified personnel needs of the sector, which is critical for the economy of our country, with the tourism employees with mid-level management qualifications.
To be a qualified program that raises individuals with high knowledge and skills, who can adapt to rapidly developing technology, produce solutions to problems in the field, make decisions, take responsibility, are entrepreneurs, and respect national values.
Tourism and Hotel Management Department is educated intermediate staffs and qualified work force that know closely and have information about Turkey and World Tourism ,have theoretical knowledge and occupational skill needed in tourism Sector,have proficiency in the use of foreign languages and computer required for the occupation and also to be innovation follower in sector ,can be participated in midlevel and productive time in Tourism Sector and can establish their own managements. The students , under this programme, get education about Front Office,Food and Beverage Service ,Automation Programmes and practically Kitchen and Service knowledges.
Physical Infrastructure
The School, which is included in the Tourism and Hotel Management Program, consists of 3 buildings (7415 m2 closed - 29000 m2 total area). It has 35 classrooms, 1 conference room, 3 computer labs and 1 practice kitchen.
Technical Infrastructure
There is 1 computer laboratory and 1 application kitchen.
