Adnan Menderes University Karacasu Vocational School started its education and training by opening a leather and ceramics program in the district of Karacasu, depending on its physical conditions. In later periods, being a stonemason expanded the range of education by opening social programs. In the opening of technical programs, the ceramic program of the pottery craft, which has been carried out for years in the district of Karacasu, played an important role in opening decorative arts as it is today. After learning has been given as a ceramic program for a while, the program continues as an architectural arts program to provide a more multi-purpose education. With the decorative arts program, it is emphasized that both the development of pottery, which is a handicraft in the region, and handicrafts such as tile, ceramic and wood are learned and important outside.
History
In the 2002-2003 academic year within the Karacasu Vocational School, it started its educational activities with 25 students under the name of the ceramic program. Pottery made in the district of Karacasu for years played an important role in the opening of this section. After a period of training as a ceramics program, the program continues its education as an architectural and decorative arts program to provide more multi-purpose education. In this program, it plays an important role in meeting the intermediate staff needs of the sector during the design and application of all kinds of architectural decorative elements.
Mission
In Turkey, the development of ceramic industry and ceramic tile with wood, decorative art elements in the direction of a few different designs together with the material mentioned in the stone decoration of architectural elements such as embroidery are created with a jerk. In the repair works of buildings, works of art such as palaces, mansions and mosques in accordance with the architectural plan, wall decoration and so on. It is a four-semester higher education program that aims to train qualified personnel who will carry out the works, painters, sculptors, ceramic artists, interior architects and restoration experts, and masters and workers. In addition, with the lathe shaping course included in the course content of the architectural decorative arts program, it is also aimed to contribute to the learning, development and artistic value of the traditional pottery craft that has been going on for years in Aydın Karacasu district.
Vision
Students who graduate from the program have no fear of finding a job. All of them have the opportunity to work as long as they wish during their student years. They can find job opportunities as intermediate staff both in the ceramic sector and in the infrastructure of departments such as architecture or interior architecture.
Purpose
Students who graduate from the Architectural Decorative Arts program are aimed to improve themselves artistically by using and improving their hand skills with the education they receive. In addition to the artistic ideas and practices are intended to contribute to the concept of art in Turkey.
Physical Infrastructure
Karacasu Vocational School provides all kinds of facilities as an administrative and workshop building as an infrastructure. In the administrative building, sufficient opportunities are provided with areas such as classrooms, technical drawing workshop, computer labs and students' lounge.
Technical Infrastructure
As the technical infrastructure of the program; There are ceramic shaping, plaster, decor and glaze workshops in our workshop building. Necessary materials are available as material equipment and there are 4 electric ceramic furnaces in terms of firing of ceramic products.
