Objectives of the Course

This course aims to introduce students to different materials and materials to be used in terms of decorative decoration in line with the content of the program and to produce and reveal objects with these materials and alternative decoration items. Regardless of the material, it is aimed to create new designs and products with the correct use of these materials.

Course Content

The use of all kinds of materials used in handicrafts in decorative ornaments, ceramics, wood, metal and various solid materials are used in making 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional new designs and products by various methods.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Research and examination of alternative materials to be used in decorative decoration

Properties, types and usage possibilities of the researched materials

Supply of materials and teaching where and how to use them
Week 4 - Practice
Recognition of alternative materials such as ceramic, plaster, wood, metal, plastic, ytong used in decoration and transition to application within the scope of designing
Week 5 - Practice
To make mosaic applications on flat ground or three-dimensional forms with these materials, one of the examples of mosaic art, by using ceramic clay or terracotta pieces.
