Objectives of the Course

The aim of this introductory course is to gain basic knowledge about organic farm animal breeding, animal products and their importance for human beings.

Course Content

Giving scientific, actuel and practical information about cattle production in the world and in Turkey, cattle breeds, reproduction in cattle, calf rearing, management ant nutrition of replacement heifers,mammary system and lactation, body condition scoring, macnine milking and mastitis, organic milk and beef production and buffalo production.

1.To be able to comprehend the importance of cattle in human nutrition,
2.To be able to recognize the characteristics of cattle breeds raised in Turkey,
3.To be able to comprehend the basic concepts about herd management in dairy cattle,
4.To be able to develop skills in calf and replacement heifer rearing,
5.To be able to use his knowledge about the production of organic meat and milk,
6.To be able to develop solutions for cattle diseases,
7.To be able to explain the features of buffalo production.
