Objectives of the Course

The aim of this study is to give basic information about alternative forage crops other than commonly cultivated forage crops, the potential of medicinal and aromatic plants as alternative forage crops, and their cultivation.

Course Content

Alternative forage crop concept, classification of alternative forage crops, cultivation techniques of Amaranthus, Beta vulgaris, Atriplex, Brassica napa, Brassica nopus, Potaryum sanguisorba, Taraxacum officinale, Helianthus annus, Phacelia tanacetifolia Benth., Plantago major, Polygonum avicalare, Thymus, Malva sylvestris, Portulaca oleracea and shrubs as forage crops
