Objectives of the Course

Herbarium techniques, proper plant collecting, drying, to methods of making herbarium material, understand the rules of nomenclature

Course Content

Herbarium, The purpose of preparing herbarium, Herbarium of flowering plants; Introduction to the tools and materials needed to work the field; Pressing and drying of samples collected; Heat shock and poisoning; Herbarium materials placed in lockers; Herbarium of gymnosperms and succulent plants.

1.To be able to obtain knowledge about plants collection techniques
2.To be able to obtain Nomenclatural rules and information about the concept of the national herbarium
3.Plant storage techniques
4.Understand how to use the plant diagnostic key
5.To be able to identify genus and species belonging to important monocotyl and dicotyl families
