Objectives of the Course

This course aims to enable students to understand customs legislation, procedures and practices in international trade; to manage import-export operations correctly and effectively; and to make compatible decisions in logistics processes by comprehending customs regimes, documents, taxes and risks. It contributes to graduates gaining competence in customs brokerage, logistics and foreign trade sectors.

Course Content

The course covers customs legislation, customs regimes (import, export, transit, warehouse etc.), Customs Tariff (GTIP), rules of origin, customs declaration, valuation of goods, customs duties and exemptions, authorized warehouses, TIR Carnet, ATA Carnet, guarantee systems, customs controls, digital customs systems (BİLGE, NCTS etc.) and international agreements (ATR, GSP etc.). It is supported by theory and practical case studies.

1.Explains Turkish and international customs legislation and basic concepts.
2.Compares and applies different customs regimes (import, export, transit, warehouse).
3.Prepares customs declarations, determines GTIP and applies rules of origin.
4.Defines TIR, ATA and other international customs documents and explains their processes.
5.Explains digital customs systems (BİLGE etc.) and e-commerce customs clearance.
6.Manages customs processes integrally in realistic import-export case studies.
