This course aims to enable students to acquire the competence to trade in stock markets by learning the structure of Borsa Istanbul, trading rules, fundamental stock market concepts, and investment instruments through theoretical, applied, and practical study.
This course covers the structure, operations, and fundamental transactions of Borsa Istanbul, one of the most important components of capital markets. Students begin with the historical development, organizational structure, legislation, and basic concepts of stock exchanges. They then proceed to study stock market segments, indices, types of orders, trading rules, initial public offerings (IPOs), dividend payments, capital increase procedures, and various investment instruments such as investment funds, warrants, and bonds. Throughout the course, students are also introduced to advanced market tools including KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) announcements, clearing and custody mechanisms, basic technical analysis, and the Futures and Options Market (VİOP). In addition to theoretical knowledge, the course is supported by practical applications such as Borsa Istanbul trading screens, order placement simulations, KAP disclosure analysis, and Excel-based exercises. These hands-on activities enable students to apply theoretical concepts in real-market conditions. By the end of the course, students acquire fundamental competencies in stock market transactions and take the first steps toward becoming conscious investors in capital markets.
