Objectives of the Course

This course aims to equip participants with skills for efficient warehouse and inventory management within logistics and supply chain operations by comprehensively addressing the concepts, techniques, and decision-making processes related to storage and inventory management.

Course Content

Warehouse types and physical characteristics, warehouse location selection, racking systems, warehouse equipment, warehousing processes, inventory control methods, Just-in-Time (JIT) and Kanban approaches, warehouse safety, warehouse performance metrics, and the strategic importance of inventory management in logistics.

3.Implementing stock control techniques and inventory optimization methods.

5.To measure warehouse performance and develop recommendations for improvement.
6.To grasp sustainability principles and future trends—such as green logistics, the circular economy, and automation—in warehousing and inventory management.

Warehouse Types, Site Selection, and Physical Distribution Planning
Week 2 - Preparation Work
Research warehouse types (general, bonded, cold storage, etc.). Watch the “Warehouse Types” video. Make a note of the use cases for each type.
Week 3 - Theoretical
Warehouse Design, Racking Systems, and Equipment Selection

Research the criteria for warehouse location selection. Watch the “Warehouse Location Selection” video. Find examples of advantages and disadvantages.

Storage Processes and Workflows
