This program is subject to the 120 ECTS credits first stage degree system in the field of Textile Technology in higher education. Upon successfully completion of the qualification requirements of the associate degree program, students are awarded by the title of Textile Technician
Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have high school diploma and enough score from YGS-Higher Education Transition Examination. While vocational school graduates are placed without examination high school graduates are placed with theYGS-1 score.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning
The course contents which have been taken another institution may be exempt from this course, if the course contents are appropriate and it is approved by the Directorate of School.
Profile of The Programme
Competition of textile sector in the world is tended to quality rather than cost. So, textile factories have to raise of quality of production for keeping up their positions. In textile sector of our country, some investments will be funded for production of high quality and advanced products instead of the standard products in the near future. For this reason, demand of technical personal will be increased in the field of weaving and garment, so qualified technical personal that have education as Professional will be needed. A qualified technical personal working in the sector is a textile technician who can use the computer programs, recognize fiber and fabrics, make them finished product using by current technology, apply the rules of occupational safety and health in the working life, follow the innovations related to the profession and has the necessary information and knowledge.

Graduates can work all kind of enterprises such as yarn spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing-printing and confection factories and design or model bureaus.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have completed associate degree training can study bachelor’s degree programs (engineer or technical teacher) if they get a desired grade from DGS (vertical transfer exam) and if they are placed by ÖSYM (Student selection and Placement Centre).
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Before the start of each semester, students must register for their courses and in order to admit to the final examinations they must be continue for at least 70% of courses and 80% of practical applications. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam. For each course the instructor advises students at the beginning of each semester with regard to the requirements for midterm examinations, papers and other assignments, conditions for admission to final examinations, and the weighting of midterm examinations, assignments and other studies in the calculation of the final course grade. The course instructor assigns a grade of between 0 and 100 for each course taken by a student and this grade is known as the raw score. Students must take at least 30 on 100 for each course. A student who has received any of the AA, BA, BB, CB, CC letter grade is considered as successful in that course. DD and DC are probation passing grades. Students must have a GPA of over 2 to be successful from any course received DD or DC letter grade.
In order to graduate, students must successfully complete all compulsory and elective courses (120 ECTS), must achieve the overall grade point at least 2.0 on 4.0 scale and must finish the final project.
All students have to undergo training 30 days (8 ECTS) in any textile organization.
