Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the art of visual communication, graphic design, from its history to the present day, both theoretically and practically. To convey all design stages of graphic design products with vector and pixel-based applications using current data. To provide students with knowledge and skills for visual communication, creative thinking and design using Adobe Photoshop Illustrator and Indesign programs.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Introduction to the course, review of term projects, explanation of evaluation criteria
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Project1: Section-Plan-Composition, Poster Design. Giving the project brief, determining the visual elements and trying to create a balanced composition.
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Project 1: Section-Plan-Composition, Poster Design Determining the event concept suitable for the prepared visual composition and completing the poster designs with the information content added.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Delivery of Project 1, presentation, evaluation
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Project 2: Publishing House Logo Design Giving the project brief, theoretical explanation, visual research, discussing reference images and publishing house brand idea, creating first sketches
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Project 2: Publishing House Logo Design Animating the determined idea sketches in digital environment, maturing the designs
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
Project 2: Publishing House Logo Design Completion of Logo Designs. Preparation of presentation sheets appropriate to the target audience and visual theme.

Delivery of Project 2, presentation, evaluation Workshop: “Corporate Identity Design”
Week 9 - Theoretical & Practice
Project 3: Corporate Identity Design Determining the original visual language appropriate for the “Brand Identity” and “Target Audience Strategies”, discussing idea sketches for the corporate identity

Project 3: Corporate Identity Design Digital production of sketched logo designs

Project 3: Implementation and completion of corporate identity designs on materials
