Objectives of the Course

To provide the conditions of energy production and the operating principles of all types of power plants.

Course Content

Electrical energy production methods, hydroelectric, thermal, nuclear power plants, renewable energy power plant types, power plant failures

1.Can explain the basic operating principles and energy conversion processes of electric power plants.
2.Can compare the operating principles of thermal, hydroelectric, nuclear and natural gas power plants.
3.Can identify the basic equipment used in electric power plants and explain their functions.
4.Can evaluate different electricity generation technologies in terms of technical, economic, and environmental criteria.
5.Can select an electricity generation plant suitable for a specific energy need and explain the reasons for their selection.
6.Can evaluate fundamental practices and operating principles aimed at increasing energy efficiency in electric power plants.
