Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the functioning of the financial system and financial markets and to gain knowledge of the role and functions of the banking sector within the economic system. The course also aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of deposit and lending operations, international banking services, foreign exchange transactions, foreign exchange instruments, and banking practices used in foreign trade transactions.

Course Content

This course covers the financial system and financial markets, financial institutions, the Turkish banking system, the establishment and operations of banks, deposit and lending activities, credit analysis and collateral instruments, international banking services, foreign exchange transactions and regulations, negotiable instruments used in foreign exchange operations (cheques, promissory notes, and bills of exchange), payment methods in international trade, bank guarantees, and banking practices applied in foreign trade transactions.

4.Interpret the fundamental concepts related to international banking services, foreign exchange operations, and foreign exchange regulations.
5.Analyze negotiable instruments, payment methods used in international trade, and banking practices applied in foreign trade transactions.
