Objectives of the Course

Approach to hematological patients, erythrocyte diseases, blood groups and blood transfusion, leukocytes and their diseases, thrombocytes and thrombocyte diseases, hematological tests and their importance, peripheral blood smear, bone marrow aspiration and bone marrow transplantation are discussed.

Course Content

To study diseases related to bone marrow, lymphatic system and blood, including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemia and similar disorders

1.Analyzes the structural and functional properties of blood by relating them to clinical conditions and surgical processes.
2.Evaluates the characteristics and disorders of erythrocytes, leukocytes, and thrombocytes using clinical findings and laboratory data.
3.Analyzes hemostasis and coagulation mechanisms and interprets potential disorders in the context of clinical processes.
4.Evaluates the processes of using blood and blood products in accordance with patient safety and ethical principles.
5.Explains the basic principles of cross-matching and blood transfusion processes in accordance with patient safety and ethical principles.
