Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the concept of environmental ethics, to learn about the sources, environmental distribution, and effects of microplastics on ecosystems, and to evaluate the potential impacts of microplastic pollution on human health and the environment from ethical, scientific, and sustainability perspectives.

Course Content

TThis course covers the concept of environmental ethics and its fundamental principles; the formation, sources, and distribution of microplastics in environmental settings are examined. Measures to reduce carbon footprint are discussed. Furthermore, the effects of microplastics on water, soil, and air ecosystems, their potential consequences on living organisms and human health, oxidative stress, and biological effects are evaluated. Strategies for combating microplastic pollution, sustainable environmental policies, and public awareness are also addressed within the scope of the course.
