Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with academic proficiency in preoperative preparation, the management of early and late complications that may arise during the postoperative period, nutritional support for surgical patients, and current minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques, based on the pathophysiology of systemic diseases requiring surgical intervention.

Course Content

This course covers early and late postoperative complications, nutrition in surgical patients, laparoscopic surgical procedures, and surgical interventions targeting the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems, as well as the associated care processes.

Learning Outcomes
1.Evaluates early and late postoperative complications in surgical patients by correlating them with clinical findings and develops a preventive plan.
2.Explains the principles of nutrition in surgical patients and the practices of laparoscopic surgery.
3.It explains surgical procedures for systemic diseases.
4.Knows system-specific surgery
5.Classifies the types of surgical procedures associated with these systems and their basic characteristics.
