The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire effective communication skills in line with patient safety, teamwork, and professional practices; to develop the ability to communicate verbally, nonverbally, and in writing with patients, their relatives, and surgical team members; to manage intra-team conflicts; and to use standard communication tools in safe patient transfer and surgical safety processes.

This course covers fundamental communication principles, effective communication in healthcare and operating room settings, communication with patients and their families, intra-team communication, structured communication techniques such as SBAR and closed-loop communication, communication applications in surgical safety processes, crisis and conflict management, written communication, professional reporting, leadership, teamwork, and technology-assisted communication.
