Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with the biochemical properties and physiological tissue effects of aromatherapeutic products, herbal, and essential oils used in hand and foot care within a scientific framework. It aims to enable students to comprehend the mechanisms of action of natural product formulations, cosmetic care agents, and specific thermotherapy (heat therapy) applications such as paraffin; and to attain the competence to provide advanced and holistic SPA/care services at professional standards by integrating this knowledge with anatomically-based finger and toe exercises.

Course Content

This course covers the theoretical and practical examination of aromatherapeutic products, SPA concepts, and botanical agents (essential and cold-pressed oils) used in hand and foot care. Within the framework of the curriculum, the biochemical effects of prepared natural mixtures and cosmetic products on the skin layer, the physiological outcomes of paraffin applications, and the chemical properties of specific care tablets are discussed in detail. Furthermore, health-preserving and relaxing advanced hand and foot care applications, integrated with hand and toe exercises supporting the musculoskeletal system, are practiced in a laboratory environment.
