Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and competence regarding the establishment, licensing, standardization, and inspection processes of hairdressing and beauty salons in compliance with legal regulations. Within the scope of this course, it aims for students to differentiate between sanitary and non-sanitary business concepts, comprehend common and specific criteria within general business opening and working license regulations, conduct occupational health and safety risk analyses in salons, and learn the administrative and legal responsibilities of a responsible manager. Additionally, it aims to train professionals who can clearly distinguish between legally permitted cosmetic/superficial procedures within general business licensing frameworks and medical treatments under the sole authority of medical doctors, mastering sectoral inspection criteria.

Knowledge would be given about legislation of the society preservation, prevention of the individual preservation techniques.

Learning Outcomes
1.Defines cosmetic application salon concepts; differentiates between sanitary and non-sanitary business structures according to their legal and juridical characteristics.
2.Explains general legal conditions in workplace licensing processes; analyzes physical, chemical, and biological occupational health and safety (OHS) risk factors in the salon environment.
3.Evaluates specific structural, technical, and physical criteria required for the licensing of hairdressing and beauty salons based on business classes (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class) in accordance with the regulations.
4.Defines the legal, penal, administrative, and ethical duties, authorities, and corporate responsibility boundaries of the responsible manager required to be employed in beauty salons.
5.Clearly distinguishes between cosmetic/superficial procedures permitted in beauty salons within the general business licensing framework and prohibited medical interventions under the sole authority of physicians.
6.Prepares an official licensing/feasibility file for a cosmetic application salon prior to opening and simulates compliance processes according to local government inspection criteria.

General Requirements for Workplace Licensing (General physical and legal requirements applicable to all personal care and cosmetic salons).

Occupational Health and Safety in Workplaces - I: Fundamental Principles and Risk Analysis (Physical, chemical, and biological risk factors in the salon environment).
