The objective of this course is to teach students the anatomy of the hands, feet, and nails, along with common dermatological conditions in these areas within a scientific framework, thereby imparting the ability to perform safe and hygienic care practices. It aims to enable students to recognize nail and skin diseases, determine the most appropriate tools and care methods (manicure/pedicure) according to the current health status of the tissue, generate analytical solutions to physiological or technical problems encountered during application, and attain the competence to perform professional hand and foot care at occupational standards.
This course covers the fundamental anatomical structure of the hands, feet, and nails, as well as the theoretical examination of diseases and structural disorders observed in these areas. Within the framework of the curriculum, the characteristics of technical tools and equipment used in hand and foot care (manicure and pedicure), modern care techniques, potential problems encountered during the procedure, and scientific solutions to these problems are discussed in detail. The theoretical education is transformed into advanced professional practice by being supported by intensive manicure, pedicure, and specific hand-foot care applications conducted within the framework of anatomy and hygiene rules.
