The objective of this course is to provide students with the fundamental concepts of the philosophy of aesthetics, the theoretical foundation of the phenomenon of 'beauty,' and its place within the philosophy of art through an analytical approach. It aims to enable students to integrate universal attributes of beauty such as proportion, symmetry, and harmony into their professional perspectives, to question the structure of aesthetic judgments, and to attain the vision to execute their applications in the field of hair care and beauty services not merely as technical procedures, but as conscious design processes with aesthetic and philosophical depth.
This course covers the theoretical examination of the fundamental concepts of aesthetics and the philosophical and artistic dimensions of the phenomenon of 'beauty.' Within the framework of the curriculum, the differences between natural beauty and artistic beauty, the attributes that constitute beauty (proportion, symmetry, harmony), and the ontological relationships among the concepts of the beautiful, the true, the good, the pleasant, and the sublime are discussed. Furthermore, the structure of aesthetic judgments, the problem of the existence of universal/common aesthetic judgments, and fundamental art theories (art as imitation, creation, and play) in the context of the philosophy of art are examined in detail.
