he objective of this course is to provide students with the historical development, theoretical foundations, and neurological mechanisms of reflexology—a recognized modality within complementary and alternative medicine—within a strictly scientific framework. It aims to enable students to accurately analyze reflexology charts by synthesizing Far Eastern and European theories, to comprehend the anatomical projections of reflexive pressure points (head, spine, internal organs, and systems) on the feet, and to attain the competence to perform professional application techniques on these points safely, effectively, and in accordance with professional occupational standards.
This course covers the theoretical examination of the definition, history, and place of reflexology within complementary medicine, along with historical findings. Within the framework of the curriculum, the foundations of reflexology in Far Eastern philosophy, its neurological connections in European theories, and reflexology charts are discussed in detail. Furthermore, the anatomical locations of reflexive pressure points on the feet corresponding to specific regions such as the head-nape, breast, stomach, haunch, sacrum-vertebra, shoulder-bend-knee, as well as other organs and systems, and practical application protocols targeting these points are addressed.
