The aim of this course is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles, and legal foundations of social security law. The course examines the structure of the Turkish social security system, insurance relationships, social insurance branches, and social assistance mechanisms. It aims to develop students' ability to interpret and apply social security legislation. In addition, the course enables students to evaluate current issues in social security law from a legal perspective. Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to acquire fundamental knowledge and practical competence in the field of social security law.
The course covers the fundamental concepts, sources, and principles of social security law. It examines the historical development and institutional structure of the Turkish social security system. The course explains compulsory insurance, the categories of insured persons, the branches of social insurance, and the rights and obligations arising from them. It also evaluates short-term and long-term insurance branches, general health insurance, and unemployment insurance. In addition, the course discusses the contribution system, financing structure, and dispute resolution mechanisms in social security. Finally, current developments and practical issues in social security law are analyzed from a legal perspective.
