Understanding the equilibrium conditions relating to individual economic units and the economy as a whole, comprehending the economic process, explaining the causes and consequences of international trade relations, and examining the dynamics of the economic growth process.
Basic Concepts in Microeconomics: needs, goods and services, consumption, production, factors of production, and economic units. Price Theory: Supply and demand. Consumer Theory: Indifference curves, budget line, marginal rate of substitution, consumer equilibrium, and changes in consumer equilibrium. Producer Theory: Iso-product curves, iso-cost line, marginal technical rate of substitution, producer equilibrium, and changes in producer equilibrium. Firm equilibrium in perfectly competitive and imperfectly competitive markets.
