Objectives of the Course

With this course students; It is aimed to gain proficiency in using basic professional grammar and programming concepts by using professional foreign language.

Course Content

This course aims to develop students’ general English language skills, introduce the basic medical terminology used in home patient care services, and improve their professional communication skills. The course covers the human body and organ systems, basic anatomy and medical terminology, patient admission and communication with patients, assessment of vital signs, expression of pain and symptoms, nutrition and medication monitoring, and English expressions used in home accidents and first aid. In addition, professional language structures used in activities of daily living, patient mobilization, and positioning are taught alongside fundamental English grammar topics.

1.To update general English information
2.Be able to communicate with patients and their families at a basic level.
3.Be able to communicate with patients during care procedures (personal hygiene, mobilization, nutrition, and dressing) in order to identify and understand their needs.
4.Be able to use basic medical terminology accurately in both spoken and written communication.
5.Be familiar with the English terminology for medical devices and materials used in home care (e.g., IV fluids, dressing materials, and mobility aids).
