The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge and skills related to preoperative and postoperative patient care in surgical diseases. The course also aims to help students explain care needs for surgical diseases in different body systems, learn home care principles for patients with invasive procedures, and recognize care practices related to caregiver education, dialysis, emergency home care, and common hematological and oncological diseases in children.

| 1. | Evaluates the care needs of individuals with surgical diseases and plans appropriate care interventions. |
| 2. | Explains and performs basic care practices for diseases related to endocrine, gastrointestinal, urogenital, nervous, respiratory, and cardiovascular system surgery. |
| 3. | Plans and performs home care practices for individuals with invasive interventions, those undergoing dialysis, and those with special care needs. |
| 4. | Identifies situations at home that require emergency care; applies the steps for basic life support and resuscitation in accordance with patient safety principles. |
| 5. | Demonstrates a holistic care approach by considering the physical, psychological, and educational needs of the patient and family caregiver. |
